Baking

Cooking isn't an activity I am well versed in, however I am pretty good at baking and enjoy doing so. During the lockdown, the stress of my board exams and being cooped up at home stressed me out and I took up baking as a therapeutic activity. I began with trying out simple cakes and tried to improve my technique. Then over the weeks, I branched out and explored other types of desserts too such as brownies, frosted cakes, macaroons, and even perfected my chocolate souffle recipe which has a reputation for being a very difficult dessert to master! Baking made me a very knowledgeable person because I was able reach and out and learn about a new area of knowledge - culinary science. Learning how the proportion of ingredients have the ability to alter the taste, structure, texture, and shape of a dessert really fascinated.
